Omar Romero For All-City
Our dude out in Los Angeles, Omar Romero, world known barber to the fixie-famous and proprietor of Vinny's Barbershop did us a solid and allowed Kyle Kelley to shoot him representing in the Big Gulp Kit.
When I first met Omar, he was working out of the back of Golden Saddle Cyclery and his services were on a handshake and whisper level. If you knew somebody who knew somebody then maybe you get an appointment with one of the best in the game. Maybe. His services were sought out by the in--the-know folks in the music, rockabilly, greaser, and because of Omar's passion for bikes, cycling scenes.
A few year's down the road, he decides to take the big step and open up his own storefront. And a few year's after that and he has doubled the size of his original shop.
Why? Because it's the sort of place that it just feels good to experience and sit in. The shirts-buttoned-all-the-way-to-the-top, tattoed, tough guys who work there appear a bit intimidating at first, but from the moment one of them greets you and offers up a beer it's clear that they are all to-a-man some of the nicest, kindest, folks you will ever meet. They are old-school professional masters of their trade who treat everyone with respect and reverence.
Personally if I know I have a trip to Los Angeles coming up, I always make it a point to let it grow so that I have an excuse to look them up when I'm in town.
Not only are their professional services top notch, but we're proud that many of them are also All-City riders. Omar started the trend by being one of the first people in all of LA to pick up a Mr. Pink and the All-City presence at Vinny's has grown along with the shop. It's a mutual love as we couldn't possibly be happier to have these gents with great hair repping the brand out West.
For this shoot the always ace GSC owner and photographer, KBK, took Omar from the shop to the hills and back again.
Thanks Omar! Thanks Kyle!
