Anna Blogs MNCX State Champs

While Jeff was off gallivanting around tropical Philadelphia for Worlds, I was back in Minneapolis trying to keep my eyes from freezing shut.

Woof.

With All-City camera privileges restored, I set off to, what else, hang out at a bike race (it’s pretty much what I do).  Cross state champs, specifically.  And the day’s high of five below ensured the state's most elite racers and spectators would be in attendance.

Local hero and friend of the show, Kesha, warms up in one of the tents.

I arrived just in time to heckle the Elite Women's field...

... and by heckle, I mean I was yelling stuff like:  "YOU'RE ALL BETTER THAN ME!"  at the top of my lungs.  Too brutal to heckle.

With a fresh coat of snow to work with, organizers didn’t need no stinking markers.

Here is local hero and solid Cat 3 State DFL Champ Megan Barr being better than me while crushing it through a sand/snow pit.

(Look at the resolution of Morgan's eyes and ice beard.... ugn, this camera is awesome...)

The Professional Spectators were in the woods, however... keeping toasty with Hot 100 and holding it down.
