Macho King Wheels - A User’s Guide

Hello friends,

We wanted to take the opportunity to remind you of some info that will help ensure the longevity and success of the wheels on your Macho King. These wheels are unique in the All-City lineup as they were intended as racing wheels.

They are built on Stan's Iron Cross rim which is one of the lightest alloy rims going at 380 grams, which is awesome for racing, however that lightweight does come with a caveat. The rim has a psi limit of 45. If you choose to run them above that limit, you're playing with fire, so don't do it. If you keep to the manufacturer's recommendation, you should not experience any issues. They are also tubeless ready which is the sweet sweet jam, as tubeless is the bees knees for racing, because it allows you to run lower pressures (with a tubeless ready tire of course).

The stock tires, the Clement MXP, has a printed PSI range of 45-75. Our recommendation then is to run the tires at that bottom limit. Plenty of folks choose to run lower than 45 psi on this tire, with reportedly excellent success. Though we cannot officially recommend that.

So in conclusion, don't go past 45psi and you'll be aces.

best,

All-City

Well this is unfortunate.  What are the consequences for going above the 45psi limit?  I spoke with my LBS and they didn’t seem worried about going higher, but they did not recommend going all that high.  I was running 60psi and did not have any issues.
