Stupor Bowl 20 Photos

Early this February the 20th edition of Minneapolis' legendary Stupor Bowl was held. This is the second longest running messenger race in the world and is famously comprised of two classes: Speed and Stupor. The speed race is your typical alleycat affair with a manifest of stops all over our fair city, while the Stupor race adds the twist of requiring competitors to pound a beverage at every stop.

This year's race was notable as only the second time in the race's history that the organizing duo were both women, and they did a tremendous job of working hard to make the race way more inclusive than it's ever been to the WTF community. Seeing new folks among the familiar faces is always a wonderful thing as it shows the health of scene here in MPLS. Stoke was high!

The All-City courier team showed up especially strong and absolutely dominated the WTF (women, trans, femme) podium with Christina Peck taking home Speed, and Nikki Munvez adding another Stupor Title, followed by our own Heather Mackinnon and Kelsey Philips in second and third. On the men's side of things yours truly took home 2nd in the Speed race, while the men's Stupor podium devolved into a three way shit show that was eventually settled with a shotgunning contest. Our man SK was one of those contenders, pretty sure he officially ended up in 2nd place.

As always it was a heck of a day out here in MPLS. Our good bud Marty Wood was on hand to document the proceedings, here are a few of our favorites...

As always, the race registration happens at One on One bicycle studio, the epicenter of MPLS urban cycling culture.
