Philadelphia Bike Expo

Jeff escaped to Austin just as I’ve returned from the Birthplace of America, the City of Brotherly Love. You know, that place from Rocky. Philadelphia.

I wasn’t able to smuggle a bike along for this one, but don’t you worry, I was still able to track down some shenanigans. Friday night, Bicycle Revolution’s and Knog hosted a down and dirty night ride about town. If there’s one thing I know about night rides, it’s that they’re bound to end up under a bridge somewhere.  I headed down with the beverage crew and helped make sure everyone was properly hydrated.

The rest of the weekend was a whirlwind of conversations with every type of cyclist from every type of place. Little tykes in Bakfiets and dudes with every type of facial hair. I met super fans from Ohio, Michigan, Texas, Canada and Washington. Who knew? It’s always nice to be able to put a face to a name, especially some of our regular folks to get at us through email on our website (hey guys!).

I can’t thank Bryan, Heather and the Bicycle Revolutions team enough for their extra love and dog cuddles. If you’re in Philly, be sure to swing in and say hello or meet up for with them for a ride or two. You don’t find shops like this in every city. We’re lucky to have their support and even luckier to have them as our buddies.

Favorite Photos From This Year’s Cross Season

We're about halfway through the Minnesota Cross Season and I've been doing my best to shoot at all the races. Here are some selections from the past month or so. Some of these are favorites because they showcase All-City stuff, and some are favorites because I just think they're pretty decent photos. Let's go.

Track or Treat 8

Once more I am hosting (under my Bike Jerks imprint) Track or Treat. Minneapolis' only fixed gear only alleycat. This is the eighth year and promises to be absolutely nuts as it takes place on Halloween night with all downtown stops. If you're in town, make sure you show up.

Kelly MacWilliams Shoots Bandit Cross

We've been sitting on these images for a while now. At first they were slated for Paved magazine, but after that entity folded, Urban Velo picked up Stevil's article about the Bandit Cross phenomenon. These were shot by the ever talented Kelly MacWilliams in 2012 at the Minnehaha Bandit Cross Course.
