Megan Fox Rides a Big Block

Yes, it's true.  Hollywood starlet and internationally renowned super-babe Megan Fox has gotten into some hot Big Block action on the set of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.

How did this happen?  Well, I'll tell you about it.

During the filming of Premium Rush, we got hooked up through our team rider and stunt man in the movie, Austin Horse, with a contact at a prop house in New York City.  This winter I received an ominous phone message from someone in Hollywood claiming to be "Michael Bay's People" wanting to get in touch about an upcoming project.  Initially I was skeptical, but that very same day our contact in New York gave a call and let us know the scoop.

Michael Bay was directing a new big screen adapatation of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (go Ninja, go Ninja, go) and they needed a bike for the April O'Neil character to ride.

Now many of us at AC are of an age where the Turtles were flipping huge, (I remember trying to go to my small town theatre the day the first movie came out and being denied access due to a sellout) and we are gigantic nerds, so of course we wanted in.   It only got better when it was confirmed that Megan Fox would be playing the heroine.

Just like that we shipped off three Big Blocks to NYC, and that was that.

Now that the movie is in production images like the above and following are floating around and we couldn't be more psyched.  I could give two shits about Hollywood blockbusters, but hot damn, this is the Turtles.  My eight year old self would be high fiving my 33 year old self so hard.

It's unfortunate that for some reason they added a stupid chrome fork and band clamp on rack to our beauty.  But what are you gonna do? That's Hollywood babe.

Well, she’s added a rack, too, so it’s kind of her thing.

Jeff’s Western Odyssey

I headed out to Colorado a week ahead of NACCC's to meet up with my good friend Josh Culbertson of Avery County Cycles to do some camping and mountain biking in the Fruita and Moab area. Obviously the love of track, cross, and road bikes runs deep, but I was brought up a mountain biker in the backwoods of Northern Wisconsin. It was my first love, and the opportunity to trod the holy ground of the mtb mecca that is Moab was way too alluring to pass up.
