Cecil

This bike was built by Joel Williams under the tutelege of Cecil Behringer. For those who have never heard of Cecil Behringer, he was a six day racer, velodrome designer and builder, frame maker, and all around renaissance man.  He is best known locally for being the man behind the now defunct Shakopee Velodrome. I had a chance to snap some photos of the bike and thought that I'd share them with you.  Cecil is a local legend and one of the most innovative and influential framemakers of the last 50 or 60 years, yet few outside of framebuilding circles know much about him.  Anyway I bring this up because Mr. Behringer was the inspiration behind the name of our sealed bearing track pedal.

He was a champion six day racer during the sports hayday, a tireless local promoter of the sport, and a fearless framebuilder (read up on his work building titanium lugged bicycles).  He is a Minnesota legend and paved the way for the modern track racing scene here in Minneapolis.
