Frostbike
February 27, 2009, By: Jeff
This past weekend we attended the annual Frostbike tradeshow in Bloomington, MN. It was really exciting for us as this was the first time we actually got to interact with our dealers face to face. It was also the first time any of us saw all of the current All-City lineup in one place at one time. To make it even more exciting we were unveiling the first prototype of our track bike, which we are expecting to be available to the public as both a frameset and complete in the fall of this year.
My plan all along was to keep the bike covered for the first few hours of the show, then make a dramatic reveal at noon. Nothing piques peoples minds quite like a mystery and I was planning on milking this unveiling for all it was worth. However I soon realized that the only one I would be entertaining with such antics was myself and we decided to do without the theatrics. The product line looked great, and will only keep improving as we develop more products from the ground up in house. Our mission is to make a significant contribution to the parts available to riders, and this is just the beginning.
Anyway here are some shots of the booth and some long shots of the bike. Next week we will be posting detailed photos of this beast so stay tuned.

and this is my favorite. this is what a late night on the tradeshow circuit looks like. Our good friend DirtyKop has obviously bitten off a little more than he could chew.

How To Use The Product Listings
February 27, 2009, By: Jeff
As you browse this website and visit the product pages you will notice that we have chosen to list part numbers for each product. The part numbers listed belong to our exclusive distributor Quality Bicycle Products. QBP services over 5,000 dealers in North America and has many international customers as well.
When you find something that you'd like but that your local bike shop doesn't carry, simply write down the part number, bring it into the shop, let them know that it comes from Quality Bicycle Products, and ask them to order it for you. We feel that listing the part numbers empowers you to be able to get what you want with minimal hassle. If you can't find a shop in your area that has a QBP account, shoot me an email with your city and zip code, and I'll find one for you.
If you're wondering why we don't sell direct to consumers, please check the "Dealers" tab for our reasoning.
Hope you like the look of the new site.
cheers,
jeff

Kiss Army
February 25, 2009, By: Jeff
Recently this lovely photo made it into my hands.
It features one of the graphic designers that All-City works with playing in a pool cue Kiss cover band. Geoff, the man who created our shield logo, is the one sporting that flashy hot pink blouse. (on loan from his mother) My first response, as I imagine yours was as well, was to inquire if it was Halloween. When queried, Geoff replied with a "No, I just love Kiss."
I could stare at this all day.

More Toe Clips now in stock
February 10, 2009, By: Jeff
We just recieved our first shipment of toe clips and straps. Everything is in stock now except the cranks and rings. In this shipment were two new styles of toe clips. The Classic Plastic Mountain Double and the Swan.
The Swan is a road style (two gates) toe clip, designed for double toe straps. They have a much narrower profile than the Crayton’s and are a great choice if you have trouble with your straps hitting your crank arm, or if you’re running a doubler on the inside. With this design the doubler sits much higher up the strap and is out of the way of the crank arm. Great for anyone who likes that classic traditional toe clip style. MSRP $22.

The Classic Plastic Mountain Double toe clip, is comfortable, tough, and best of all cheap to replace. MSRP is $9 so there’ll be no more crying over broken double toe clips.

Cecil
February 05, 2009, By: Jeff
This bike was built by Joel Williams under the tutelege of Cecil Behringer. For those who have never heard of Cecil Behringer, he was a six day racer, velodrome designer and builder, frame maker, and all around renaissance man. He is best known locally for being the man behind the now defunct Shakopee Velodrome. I had a chance to snap some photos of the bike and thought that I'd share them with you. Cecil is a local legend and one of the most innovative and influential framemakers of the last 50 or 60 years,
yet few outside of framebuilding circles know much about him. Anyway I bring this up because Mr. Behringer was the inspiration behind the name of our sealed bearing track pedal.
He was a champion six day racer during the sports hayday, a tireless local promoter of the sport, and a fearless framebuilder (read up on his work building titanium lugged bicycles). He is a Minnesota legend and paved the way for the modern track racing scene here in Minneapolis.
