All-City at Midwest Single Speed Cross Championships

On Saturday, Amy and I headed out to the Velocross race up at the National Sports Center in Blaine for the Midwest Single Speed Championships.  We brought our tent, super-pro btw, some dontus, demo bikes and three cases of beer and got after it.

Here we are on the podium, because we climbed up there when no one was watching.

Amy worked the booth, and I raced the 55 minute single speed event.  My back has been giving me grief all week after last week's Bandit Cross, so I was pretty worried about actually making it the whole time.  A 30 minute Cat 4 race kicks my ass, so I had no idea how to handle almost double that.

The answer of course was, as it always is in these situations, to hang in the back and take advantage of the beer and bacon handups whenever possible.

The More You Know: 46cm and 61cm Thunderdomes Exist.

Yeah, you read that right. Here in the real world you can actually purchase either a really small or pretty darn big Thunderdome frameset in lovely polished aluminum. And if that wasn't enough to get your RPM's up, there's more. Yes, there is actually even more good news. We have dropped the MSRP on this 7000 Series aluminum beast to $650. Zoinks!

Russell’s Space Horse

While down in Austin for Cross Nationals we threw a little party with our dealer Cycleast. In between laying heavy slabs of wax on the ears of the partygoers, I had the opportunity to shoot some photographs of Cycleast's head honcho, Russell's, way hot Dura Ace equipped Space Horse. Check it out.
