On Saturday, Amy and I headed out to the Velocross race up at the National Sports Center in Blaine for the Midwest Single Speed Championships. We brought our tent, super-pro btw, some dontus, demo bikes and three cases of beer and got after it.

Here we are on the podium, because we climbed up there when no one was watching.
Amy worked the booth, and I raced the 55 minute single speed event. My back has been giving me grief all week after last week's Bandit Cross, so I was pretty worried about actually making it the whole time. A 30 minute Cat 4 race kicks my ass, so I had no idea how to handle almost double that.
The answer of course was, as it always is in these situations, to hang in the back and take advantage of the beer and bacon handups whenever possible.
The AC team van, my 1985 Volkswagon Vanagon, stylish as always
the back of our totally pro ass tent
the front of our totally pro ass tent, the American Flag chairs had everybody jealous
donuts from A Baker's Wife, support small donut shops!
Max from Behind Bars on his Nature Boy Zona
that's me on the course in the shadow of the Velodrome
Will from The Hub team on a Nature Boy
this dude from Omnium was riding a Nature Boy, but I have no idea who he is
this dude was your winner, he crushed everybody, his name is Owen, he's a dentist, and a real nice fella
this photo was actually taken right before I got in a bunch of dude's way who were lapping me, I was stuntin for the camera and didn't hear their approach, totally rookie move
Super stoked on this Nature Boy, dude hated the green paint, so he customized his. Good lookin for sure.
And that concludes our Saturday adventures, thanks for following along
