Dropout

If the Big Block is our dream trackie then the Dropout is our ideal bike for all around radness.  Some will look at it and immediately recognize it’s fixed gear freestyle potential, others will remember that our designer Adam is a BMX’er from way back, spot the 990 mounts, and realize that Adam may have just put one over on all of us fixie dude’s by designing himself his dream 700c BMX bike.  (or as close to it as we’d let him) However you choose to build it up: brakeless, two brakes and a freewheel, no brakes and a freewheel, polo, dirt, etc.  The Dropout is a platform for pretty much anything you want to do that involves big wheels and hard riding.  It can handle trails, jumps, hardcourt, messengering, whatever.  Ride it for transport, ride it for tricks, or do tricks while riding it for transport, or ride long distances between doing tricks… you get the idea.  The only limit is your creativity.

The Dropout comes with all of our standard hallmarks, custom headbadge, signature dropouts with built in tensioners and thoughtful design.  Now what may you ask is so thoughtful about this bike?  Well, instead of stainless dropouts as on the Big Block, we’ve switched to 4130 chromoly for the Dropout.  Why you ask? Because 4130 is a softer material and allows for better axle bite on the dropout, which is important when you’re going big and want to avoid wheel slippage.  It sports a machined headtube that takes a Campy 45/45 internal headset because good quality headsets are available at very reasonable prices in this standard, and BMX bikes have proven its toughness and reliability.  Instead of paint this baby is ED finished (think Black Magic) for rust prevention and then powdercoated for ultimate durability.  The fully heat treated fork (stronger) has been designed with some flex to make landings more comfortable and we’ve designed some very trick fork ends with integrated “lawyer” tabs. The gussets have been designed for optimal strength and a minimum of material, which along with our intelligent tubing spec, makes one of the lightest fixed gear freestyle bikes in existence. The 990 BMX studs are removable, as are the rear brake cable routing and gyro tabs. etc. etc.

And yes it will barspin a 700c wheel in all sizes no problem.

Features

Frame: 100% full 4130 ChroMoly steel. Double butted down, top, and seat tubes.  Top and down tube gussets at the head tube.

Fork: Fully Heat treated 4130 ChroMoly tapered fork blades and steerer tube, custom fork ends with integrated lawyer tabs.

Internal Headset:  Campy 45/45.  It’s hard to argue with any standard with the word “Campy” in it.

Signature Dropouts: 4130 investment cast AC signature dropouts featuring built in tensioners.

Steel tubing: Steel is the only choice for a bike that you can ride all day and beat the crap out of in total comfort.

Freestyle Geometry: A hyrbid of track, BMX, and mountain which is comfortable enough to ride all day, gives plenty of bar spin clearance, minimal toe overlap, and provides a nice platform for bunny hops.  It sliders like a dream, and puts smiles on children’s faces.

Tire clearance: 38c’s in the frame with the wheel slammed all the way forward in the dropout (pull it back for more clearance), 47c’s in the fork
